Everytime I stay in a Holiday inn I think of this
Here I am again...only 4 years later......January, 2023/. ???
one of the greatest songs ever recorded; referenced in the aerosmith song no more no more off of toys
Very underrated song.
That mandolin break...beautiful.
One of the most talented musicians ever.........
There will only ever be 1 Elton. Pity the young generation have missed this

I have always loved this song.
Always a pleasure listening to this song now some 5 decades old. When they honor Elton and Bernie's incredible array of music, those songs that made the billboard charts, there's so many more equally moving and beautiful ! This is one of my top 5.
This is top 5 for sure, it never grows old even after 50 years. How many of you would go back to that time, in a minute? For those of you seeking an Elton fix with an early days gem, take a listen to 17-11-70 album. Live and incredible, it will tingle your spine.
Flying into Boston always reminded me of this song.
From a terminal gate, to a black limousine, it's a ten minute ride to a Holiday Inn.
I can't wait until it's 87 degrees at 940pm on a Tuesday night and I'm drinking a cold cold cold beer at the lake jamming this.
just what I needed.... chills
my old vinyl used to skip on the word "boredom" when I hear it now Im almost surprised he sings "boredoms a past time..." instead of boredom...boredom..boredom :)
Mandolin….so lovely
wow this is the old school
Reminds me of me.
I've always loved this song, and a lot of that is the mandolins. But it's just a great piece of songwriting and a super arrangement. Nice layers of sound, and hey, there's nothing wrong with a tune written in 3/4 time, either!
Magic of an album, when my older brothers brought it into our house.
There is footage from a 1970 BBC program that features every EXCEPT Davey. When they launched into this song, I was wondering what they were going to do with the end of the song. He sang a SECOND verse I'd never heard before. It was beautiful
