Recorded in 1973.
My name is Swifty. I was Road Manager for Larry and the Foreplay band and The Eleventh House band back in the 70s. I traveled around the world with them and worked very closely with them keeping it all on track, see the credit on the back of the Eleventh House album. I was always part of the act onstage in my black cowboy hat, changing strings and tending equipment. Larry always introduced me as the 6th member of the band. Some of my most precious memories, dancing on the stage as they played their set. The most fun a human can have.
I consider myself a close friend to Larry, he came to visit me in Gettysburg where I live and was able to tell stories and laugh with him about our times on the road. I stayed in touch with him right up to the end, in fact he had promised to come for another visit the year he died. I shared some of my wood turning, and he sent me a very special Christmas present a CD "Larry & Tracey Do Christmas

Whatever happened to FM underground radio where you could hear anything?? Like this, then Zappa then Miles, then Beefheart, then ....Where no one told the DJ what to play and ANYTHING could happen. I learned so much from those hours and hours of listening.
one of my fav albums of all time
I have such a story for this song. An amazing story. I still love this song. Always will.
A great master, friend and colleague. We had a lot of great moments and laughs.
Goodbye for now Larry.
Goodbye for now Larry.
In the early 70s when I was a roadie and a bass player in NYC I first meet Danny Trifan the bass player your listening to now. I was part of the road crew for Buzzy Linhart. That band consisted of Buzzy on guitar and vocals along with Luther Rix who was and still is an amazing drummer and Danny on bass. What great days those were. Back then if you were into music NYC was the place to be.
RIP.
I went to NYC with some musician friends to see "The Eleventh House" in 1975 at "The Bottom Line" on Houston. It was our first time seeing Coryell and although I saw him many times after .. this .. was the BEST show ( by far ) ever. My drummer friend .. ( from Brazil ) was blown away by the sheer talent of Alfonse Mouzon, and the trumpet player in our little group was really impressed with the Brecker Brothers too. We ALL were impressed by Larry Corryell for, he was at the absolute TOP of his game at that point in his career. Floating seamlessly through Birdfingers and hypnotizing us with this tune .. "Low-Lee-Tah. I'll never forget that night .. or that show. RIP Larry Coryell. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A highlight from a great album.
Larry seat at the table is no longer waiting...
Rest In Peace Larry Coryell and Alphonse Mouzon Back together again.
sounds like Meeting Of The Spirits
Lucky to see this band in 1978 for five bucks in Higganum CT.
Yes, thanks for putting it here. I have all my vinyl packed away and Larry is there somewhere. This was such a great time for guitar fusion. The music really takes you somewhere. I haven't kept up on this since I have had a long run with alternative rock but I know Jeff Beck is still doing amazing things. Saw him in Oakland with Brian Wilson recently. Odd combo but it worked. Beck did play alone with his band for quite awhile. Phenomenal....
What a Band! There aren't many albums I've listened to continuously since the '70's, but this is one.
Maybe the best ever Fusion album (Sorry Mahavishnu Orchestra!)
Cheers!

Still my favorite fusion piece as I remember the first time I heard it on FM underground radio here in Portland Oregon at its release in 1974, and rushed to the record store to buy it. Larry Coryell is still at the top of the greatest guitar fusion player lists in my book.
hello gerardo, I feel about it the same way; rock and jazz were two separate things when I grew up. But then heroes like Miles Davis came in and tore down frontiers and starting melting together things that - in the large public sense - didn´t fit together. And that was the birth of fusion or jazz-rock. - I am very glad I got Alphonse Mouzon´s OK to upload this track. My best wishes for you
de lo mejor del jazz-rock de los 70's !!!!
Thanks!!! TenaciousRecords.comm The Eleventh House reunion concert on April 5, 20013 was awesome! A DVD from that concert in Ashburnham, MA will be forthcoming!!

Thank you very much for the information. The Eleventh House were a fantastic band way back in the 70ies, all of you fantastic musicians, and I am glad you reunited. Eagerly looking forward to that DVD. My very best wishes for you all.
P.S.I just found one teaser off your forthcoming DVD on youTube: Birdfinger. Super-Great! Pity Mike Mandel couldn´t participate, but I am glad he is better now.
