Blutbahnen is an album by the German extreme metal band Eisregen. The album was released in 2017 and features 12 tracks that explore themes of death, violence, and darkness.
The album opens with the track "Menschenfresser", which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its fast-paced guitar riffs and aggressive vocals. The title track "Blutbahnen" is a standout, with its haunting melody and atmospheric soundscapes.
One of the strengths of this album is the diversity of styles and sounds that Eisregen incorporates. "Das Allerschlimmste" is a slower, more melancholy track that showcases the band's ability to create atmosphere and emotion. "1000 Jahre Nacht" is a more traditional black metal song, with blast beats and screeching vocals.

Eisregen is a German Metal band from Tambach-Dietharz (Thuringia), formed in 1995.
The band is (in)famous for their morbid and extreme lyrics, which caused problems with the German "Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons" in the past.

Comments
Since Blutbahen, Eisregen started to act more and more like a Pop/Pseudo-Symphonic Rock act more than anything else. Along with aerial and minor key synth backings and D tuning, Michael Roth attempts even at clean baritone vocals in places. Maybe the band was attempting to sound like Thornography-era Cradle of Filth or Agathodaimon, but the repeated use of balladry is a failure, due to the out-of-tune vocals, a tendency to write saccharine phrases and a general lack of personality. Not terrible, but the band was exploring a territory they should have ignored.Highlights: "Im Dornenwall", "Schneuz den Kasper!".
