The Crucifucks - LD Eye

Review by SAMYSTYLES

LD Eye by Crucifucks is a powerful and politically charged album that showcases the band's unique brand of punk rock. The album features hard-hitting, fast-paced tracks that are full of energy and angst. The lyrics are unapologetically political, tackling issues such as war, government corruption, and social injustice.

One standout track on the album is "Hinkley Had a Vision," which tells the story of John Hinckley Jr., the man who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan. The song is a scathing critique of the media's obsession with sensationalizing the story and the government's use of the incident to further their own agendas.

Another standout track is "Cops for Fertilizer," which takes aim at police brutality and the militarization of law enforcement. The song features lyrics such as "cops for fertilizer, pigs in the field, spraying their bullets, making sure we yield."

The Crucifucks were a hardcore punk rock band from Lansing, MI, USA, formed in January 1982 by vocalist and only constant member . The group was known for Dart's shrill voice, anti-authoritarian lyrics, and extreme antagonism. Unusual for a participant in the mostly youth-orientated hardcore scene, Dart was 28 years old when the band started. The band's original drummer was a young , who eventually ended up as the permanent drummer for . The Crucifucks first album was recorded by producer and released on of the ' label in 1984. The album, featuring songs like "Cops for Fertilizer" and "Hinkley Had a Vision" (referring to would-be presidential assassin ) is hailed in some quarters but was later referred to as an "abomination" and "a spoken word album with a little noise in the background" by Dart. Dart returned with a mostly different line up and a different sound for 1987's "Wisconsin" but the band was disintegrated less than a year later. In 1990, Dart released a solo album entitled "Patricia" (named after his therapist) on Alternative Tentacles, and later recorded a follow up album, "Black Tuesday

I thought Wisconsin was there only album. Wisconsin was an excellent album this one I can compare it to shit "I want to take the president chop off his head and mail it to then in a garbage bag"now those are iconic lyrics to an iconic album from an iconic band and then they made this album so sorry

When did they record this? I left Lansing on a suicide mission in 1987 and ended up in San Francisco where I am obviously still alive... I thought "Crucifucks" and "Wisconsin" were their only recordings... This one has a bit less edge than the 2 previous albums however the biting political commentary and prescience is still firmly intact... I tried to find Crucifucks on Google music but they only had similar bands and a Wikipedia listing which said the guitarist was Doc's cousin Jo, when I knew the band a guy named Gus who wore greasy mechanic overalls played guitar... I'm hearing Margaret Thatcher and I guess the Iraq war he's referring to is the first one? Don't know how the hell I missed this one.....
