Modern Ruin, the ninth studio album by Covenant, is a mesmerizing journey into the world of electronic music. With their signature blend of darkwave, EBM, and synthpop, the Swedish trio delivers a collection of tracks that are both haunting and uplifting.
From the opening track, "The Earth is Humming," with its pulsating beats and ethereal vocals, to the epic finale, "The Night," which features a haunting piano melody and a choir of voices, Modern Ruin is a masterpiece of atmospheric soundscapes and powerful lyrics.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Dies Irae," a haunting and melancholic song that explores the themes of mortality and the fragility of life. Another notable track is "Ignorance & Bliss," a high-energy dance anthem that will get your heart racing and your feet moving.

About Covenant
Swedish Dark-Synth/Electro band
Friends since the mid-1980s, the members of Covenant released Dreams Of A Cryotank, their first album, in 1994. Line-up at that time: vocalist and songwriter Eskil Simonsson, keyboardist and lyricist Joakim Montelius, and keyboardist Clas Nachmanson.
In 1998, after releasing two more albums and a handful of singles/EPs and the demise of their North American label , they started a relationship with distributor with the release of the Euro EP.
On July 13, 1999, Metropolis re-released their first three albums and the Theremin EP. While they continue to produce music together, Joakim Montelius and Eskil Simonsson have since taken up residence in separate countries; Montelius resides in Barcelona, Spain while Simonsson lives in Berlin, Germany.

The WORST Covenant album ever. The only good song off of this one was Beauty and the Grace (which is a fantastic track!). But other than that, a pretty forgettable and bland album.
