Continental Singers were great. Is their organization in existence today?
I was a part (tech) of a youth musical group that presented It's Getting Late for over one year and The Apostle for over two years. Surprising I still remember the words and narrations. My time with that group shaped my Christian life to this day.I even took a college course on the Apostle Paul.
How can I obtain sound tracks of this great album
thanks for the memory
Thank you for posting! I remember our college music department staged this in circa 1973-74. Then, as a youth choir leader, I incorporated some of the songs into our service. My LP has long deteriorated but can you upload more of the songs? I don't even remember all of them now but what I do remember is that they were beautiful. PS: I see "Canticle for Brothers Apart" but there was one other that started something like, "Is Your Name Written in the Book of Life?". Thanks!
my older brother bought this album in the early 70's, I long remembered the title track and 'I wish you'd all believe me' but not heard them for over 40 years. would love to get the album again. Christianity has produced such a wonderful store of music through the centuries, handels messiah to name just one piece.
The Continental Singers were a great organization. I wonder if they are still in existence today?
it is sooooooooooo disco-ey!
Continental Singers-summer of 1972!! I remember the studio we recorded this was down the street from Paramount Studios. I remember being in a professional studio to record this album, and getting to do one of the narrations. And I remember the final concert at Hollywood High School and our tour (tour C) getting picked to do the big narration leading into "Hosanna, Hallelujah". I always loved telling people, I had a solo in Hollywood!! LOL!! Unfortunately, the rest of the tour wasn't quite as good as that. But it was always fun meeting the people afterwards and the family we were chosen to go home with.
Oooh, I've been looking for this for ages. Wore this record out as a pre-teen! Any chance of you posting the whole album?
Tour C too! Carol Austin I sang the Lamb's Holy Feast in concert and at the finale in 1972!
Wow! Sang this musical in high school with my youth group. What a blast from the past! And, yes, my friends and I still giggle when remembering how hard it was to learn the fugue :-)
