Comments
Caterwaul failed to impress most critics of the early 90's who just didn't get any pleasure from the wailing wall of guitar feedback coupled with Betsy Martin's androgynous shriek. Upon a serious listen, there are plenty of top notch songs in the Caterwaul catalog. Granted, they're not for everyone but turn this CD up and the walls will shake. Highlights include: "Good for You," "Stumped," and "Manna And Quail."
Beautiful! Thanks for creating this video to go with one of my favorite songs!
Otherworldly to say the least
Timelessly beautiful.
betsy is one of the greatest singers i´ve ever heard, kinda love her
Never tire of it, sounds as good today as 1988, maybe better.
I could just dance around in these guitar harmonics all night.... awesome!
Randomly picked up Portent Hue at a local vinyl store for three bucks the other day. Was pleasantly surprised!!
love this band!
If this album was released today... Would it be finally be appreciated as the great piece of work that is there is still time to bring it all back again... REUNION!!!.... Betsy you rule!!!
Saw these guys at the Uptown Bar in MPLS around 1989, fantastic performance.
Thanks so much for posting this!
Such a wall of sound.
Portant Hue was one of the greatest albums of the 80's.
It's a shame that it's overlooked.

betsy martin es una de las voces inolvidables, y obviamente la maestra de alanis morrisette
@kggkkggk I've seen a lot of great concerts but regret never seeing these guys. Love their sound and Betsy is an original. One of many great bands overlooked while so much crap sells.......
A long, long time ago I worked at a college radio station. We got this album in, and I think we all just sat back and...basked. Yeah. We basked.
I really miss this band. Most people have never heard of them.
I regret never having the chance to see them in concert but I sure wore out their cassette.
Tornadic guitar and piercing vocals.
