Caterwaul - Portent Hue

Caterwaul's latest album, Portent Hue, showcases the band's unique blend of post-punk and experimental rock. The album features a range of sounds, from the hauntingly melodic "Dissolve" to the frenzied energy of "Fever Dream".
The band's instrumentation is impressive, with intricate guitar riffs and dynamic drumming driving each track forward. The vocals are equally impressive, with lead singer David Doyle's powerful voice adding an emotive quality to the music.
One standout track is "Cacophony", which showcases the band's ability to seamlessly blend genres. The track starts off with a slow, brooding intro before exploding into a frenzied punk rock chorus.

Caterwaul failed to impress most critics of the early 90's who just didn't get any pleasure from the wailing wall of guitar feedback coupled with Betsy Martin's androgynous shriek. Upon a serious listen, there are plenty of top notch songs in the Caterwaul catalog. Granted, they're not for everyone but turn this CD up and the walls will shake. Highlights include: "Good for You," "Stumped," and "Manna And Quail."

@kggkkggk I've seen a lot of great concerts but regret never seeing these guys. Love their sound and Betsy is an original. One of many great bands overlooked while so much crap sells.......
A long, long time ago I worked at a college radio station. We got this album in, and I think we all just sat back and...basked. Yeah. We basked.
I really miss this band. Most people have never heard of them.
I regret never having the chance to see them in concert but I sure wore out their cassette.
