Review by Thomas Williams

Movie Magg Turn Around is a classic rock and roll album by the legendary Carl Perkins. Released in 1956, the album features 12 tracks that showcase Perkins' signature sound and style. The album starts off with the upbeat and infectious title track, "Movie Magg," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Other standout tracks include "Gone Gone Gone" and "Let The Jukebox Keep On Playing," which are both energetic and fun to listen to.

Perkins' vocal performances are top-notch throughout the album, and his guitar playing is equally impressive. The musicianship on display is a testament to Perkins' talent and his influence on the rock and roll genre. The album has a timeless quality that still sounds fresh and exciting today, over 60 years after its initial release.

I interviewed Carl in 1980 while he touring with his 2 sons through the South. A Southern Mensch who told me the story behind Movie Mag is based on a factual event.

the first time I ever heard this song was in the early 50's it was on a radio program on WHBQ in Memphis Tennessee and it was sang by I think Freddie Burns and his light crust doe boys.    I have been looking for it on you tube for years and finally found it  last week.  good song; love to hear  Carl Perkins sing too.
