Great vocal recording for this era!
He wrote this at 13 and performed it since 1946 and may be the first rockabilly song written and recorded
These new artist never will make music like this anymore
What key is this?
kool
I interviewed Carl in 1980 while he touring with his 2 sons through the South. A Southern Mensch who told me the story behind Movie Mag is based on a factual event.
Major influence later on the Beatles!
if this song was on a 45 RPM and I owned it would have hole worn in it by now
So much fun to hear over and over....Recorded at 706 Union, October 1954
what ever happened to Maggie who this song is about?
Southern date night riddin' on a mule to go to the picture show....Ya gotta love the simplicity of this tune.
the first time I ever heard this song was in the early 50's it was on a radio program on WHBQ in Memphis Tennessee and it was sang by I think Freddie Burns and his light crust doe boys. I have been looking for it on you tube for years and finally found it last week. good song; love to hear Carl Perkins sing too.
great song great talent
