About Burning

Spanish Rock band based in Madrid. Founded in 1974 by José Casas "Pepe Risi" (guitar), Enrique Pérez "Quique" (bass), J.A. Martín "Toño" (vocals), and J. A. "Johnny" Cifuentes (keyboards). They had three drummers on their first years (Ernesto "Tito" Estepa 1974-76; Ildefonso García Alvarez "Fonso" 1976-78; and Roberto Oltra "Teto" 1978-79). In 1979 the original line-up is broken when Quique leaves the band, and later in 1983 Toño left them too, remaining the band as Pepe Risi-Johnny with backing musicians until Risi's death in 1997. The band went on with more backing musicians with Johnny as the only founder member until 2019. Then Johnny Cifuentes released in 2020 a solo album as Johnny Burning "Hagámoslo". Original lineup: Toño Martín - vocals (1974-1983). Died in 1991. Pepe Risi - guitar (1974-1997). Died in 1997. Quique Pérez - bass (1974-1979). Johnny Cifuentes - keyboard (1974-2019). Ernesto Estepa Tito - drums (1974-1976).
