Review by Jodi Nicholson

The album "Joao Bossa Nova" by Bud Shank and Clare Fischer is a remarkable blend of jazz and Brazilian music. The album, released in 1965, features the duo's interpretation of the works of Brazilian composer Joao Gilberto. The album is a beautiful combination of Shank's signature flute sound and Fischer's piano accompaniment, which perfectly complements the bossa nova rhythms.

The album opens with "Nocturno," a sultry and smooth track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The duo's rendition of "Desafinado" is particularly noteworthy, featuring Shank's virtuosic flute playing and Fischer's intricate piano lines. The album also includes a beautiful version of "Samba da Minha Terra," which highlights the duo's ability to capture the essence of Brazilian music.
