About Bonzo Dog DooDah Band
The Bonzo Dog Band (also known as The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, The Bonzo Dog Dada Band and, colloquially, as "The Bonzos") are a band created by a group of British art-school denizens of the 1960s. Combining elements of music hall, trad jazz, psychedelic rock, and avant-garde art, the Bonzos came to the attention of a broader British public through a children's television programme, "Do Not Adjust Your Set". After three reunions (in 1972, 1988 and 2006) a conflict arose with , which led to the spinoff .
The core members of the group for most of the band's career were:
* (19431995): trumpet, lead vocals
* (b. 1944): piano, guitar, lead vocals
* Rodney "Rhino" Desborough Slater (b. 1944): saxophone
* (b. 1943): tenor sax and various contraptions
* (b. 1944): drums
However, the band's onstage line-up varied, sometimes on a weekly basis, and they also invited a number of guest musicians into the recording studio. Additional members of various duration include: Vernon Dudley Bohay-Nowell, Martin "Sam Spoons" Ash, "Happy" Wally Wilks, Tom Parkinson, Chris Jennings, Claude Abbo, Trevor Brown, Tom Hedge, , , , , Leon Williams, John Parry, Raymond Lewitt, Sydney "Big Sid" Nicholls, James "Jim Strobes" Chambers, Bob Kerr, Dave Clague, Joel Druckman, "Borneo" Fred Munt, Chalky Chalkey, Dennis Cowan, , , Anthony 'Bubs' White, Andy Roberts, Dave Richards, Pete Currie, Dick Parry, Hughie Flint and Glen Colson.
Stanshall and Innes were the band's principal songwriters. After the band's demise, both became founding members of along with the members of .

I found 4 albums from these guys in a garage sale find - had to check them out. great stuff!
It is 2:00 AM and I am here. I like it.
Does Humanoid Boogie qualify as the world's first ever rap song? :)
satan worship is not a good thing …its a choice and I choose God…music is very infiltrating..be careful.
I love inferred hot dogs!! they are delicious!
here come some normals now
saw them open 4 the WHO n '69, i was 14 years old...i liked them JUST as much as Moonies pop quartet, even now.
bought this when it came out,sounds better than ever now...
Billy Shears, man I guess the guy really is a genius
Whoops! My rice pudding's getting burnt!
There are comments below that suggest that "Doughnuts…" is just a bit of wanky, late 1960s, avant guardism; similar to Frank Zappa's interesting contributions. It is altogether more significant than that, especially for the monologues or soliloquies on side two which combine the genius of John Betjeman and Alan Bennet, plus something greater.
To all of the Bonzo people, we, you , i get it. We ARE normal. As an aside, I was lucky enough to see them perform at the Boston Tea Party. Just a few (45) years ago.
Through the magic of the internet, I finally found out who Burt Weedon was. It took 40 years, but it was worth the wait.
Also, maybe one might read the book Ginger Geezer. A bit of a slog but you will have absorbed the (insert joke here) that was Viv Stanshall. Genius? No doubt in my so-called brain.
Neil and Viv's songwriting came in really well on this album...you can tell Neil already wanted to give the band a more pop/ rock sound..the doughnut in granny's greenhouse was from Micheal Palin's description for an outside toilet
