The gas prices wouldn't have risen if the US oilmen hadn't hiked the price from the wells in the Southwest.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has not lowered the Gas
they have lowered production instead
and you are screwed buddy, in addition you are dead lol

How many thought about this song this month?03-24-2022.Sanctions and threats do not work.In a clever move Putin is requiring gas purchase’s by other countries to be paid in Rubles. Now the Russian ruble will increase in value because many countries will keep purchasing oil.$700 million a day!..And the American dollar? Thanks Joe.You have destroyed our economy and it only took you one year.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. I was a friend of Bobby's in the late 70's and early 80's. I even co wrote a few songs with him. One in particular comes to mind "John Travolta Blues". It didn't take off, but we had a lot of fun doing it and driving around the state getting radio stations to play it with our friend Mike Recard, form Jack Rabbit Records.
I lost touch with Bobby and have always wondered about him. I feel blessed for having known him.

the United States banned the export of grain to the Soviet Union in response to the invasion of Afghanistan in 1979.
Initiated by the Carter administration in January 1980, the embargo was lifted by Ronald Reagan in April 1981.
Tangible effects of the embargo were negligible, with the Soviet Union simply acquiring grain from alternative sources in South America and Europe.
Commodity prices dropped following the embargo, contributing to a severe farm crisis. So it was a bad move

RIP Bobby Butler.
I worked with Bobby "so fine" Butler when her recorded this song. I never thought gas would ever get this high. It is sad we have gas, but continue to make Americans pay a higher price. He was/is a character. Does anyone know where bobby is if he is still among us?
Awesome! Is he still alive and well?
And we thought we had it bad in 1979...
Good song, thank you
unfortunately most people do not realize how much money the western governments make on tax revenues from oil much more than the producing country

I remember that song! I bought the 45 in 1979. We had a guy on the radio in Jersery, Beau Weaver, played this song over & over for hours on WTTM in Trenton.
I still have my 45 of this- LOL. Great song!!

My grandpa Robert Butler aka bobby sofine wrote this song
Unfortunately,It was an empty threat,Workable but empty.
When Bobby Butler of KJJJ Radio came out with this, I went to the record store, and said they might want to order a few extra ..... next time I went in they had them stacked to the hilt, and a month later they STILL had that many. Great song nonetheless.
@barrygioportmorien1 I would, but I commute nearly 100 miles a day for my job...and those oil companies rake in the cash more and more every year! Gotta love it.
Good Song. Here in Canada we're almost up to $1.40 a litre, and that comes out to almost $6.40 a Canadian gallon. We'll soon all have to give up driving.
