wow...first listen...this woman was way ahead of her time...and very original...what a voice.
Kim will put up with most of my musical taste wich like yours is very varied, she can put up with hard core Thrash the early Blues of Wolf and the kings and etc even will enjoy some bach or mozart together, but when i brake out the Buck Owens Gene Gentry or early George jones she closes my door and makes sure not a sound escapes. ...some women jut cant see the giggles that come from old time country or early 70s country bog.(that gator was 20 feet long and as tough as the smog).
Gentry does Rodriguez. !
16 hates? Guess they were hoping for Bobby Davro.
? album
A masterpiece!!! The ending is so damned good with "I'll give you my dog" "Oh I got a dog
Mercury rev norah jones version awesome too
Funny, how she doesn't sound anything like Joni Mitchell, there's still something going on that reminds me of her, over and over and over. I guess because she was such an original, when she was recording, and her music which was so personal and coming from so deep.
She's great. She really is. And unsung too, considering what she was, kind of a genius.

wrong song title
Great song , great singer.
bobby gentry is pure class-ode to billy joe just missed uk top 10 in 1967.This song is even better and the "delta" album -1968 in uk-is a classic album.Watch out for the 8 cd box set out in september-all the albums, demo versions and loads of previously unreleased songs.Shame none of her 1978 warner bros stuff is included.
I feel like Kurt Cobain listened to this.
