Best known for his song Waar En Wanneer.
Represented Belgium at the Eurovision Songfestival in 1959 and 1961.
In 2001 he had a brain hemorrhage, which paralyzed his left arm and both legs. Since 2005 he lived in a retirement home in his birthplace Sint-Niklaas.
