Barshasketh - Sitra Achra

Sitra Achra, the latest album by Barshasketh, is a powerful and intense work of black metal. The band, hailing from New Zealand and Scotland, has crafted a collection of songs that are both raw and atmospheric, drawing on the traditions of the genre while also pushing its boundaries.

The album opens with "Vacillation," a track that sets the tone for what's to come. The guitars are fierce and the drums thunderous, but there's also a sense of melody and intricacy that runs throughout. This is followed by "Resolve," which features some of the album's most memorable riffs.

As the album progresses, the band explores different textures and moods. "Consciousness I" is a slower, more atmospheric track that builds to a haunting climax, while "Consciousness II" is a more aggressive and chaotic piece that showcases the band's technical prowess.

Throughout the album, the vocals are a standout feature. The harsh, raspy screams of singer Krigeist are perfectly suited to the music, adding an extra layer of intensity and emotion.
