Babes in Toyland's album Redeux is a powerful and raw collection of re-recorded tracks from their early years. The band, consisting of Kat Bjelland, Lori Barbero, and Maureen Herman, delivers a fierce and unapologetic sound that harkens back to their grunge roots.
The album features 22 tracks, including fan favorites like "Bruise Violet" and "Sweet '69," as well as lesser-known tracks like "Oh Yeah" and "Bluebell." The songs have been reworked and updated, with a heavier and more aggressive sound that showcases the band's evolution over the years.
Bjelland's vocals are as powerful as ever, with her signature screams and growls cutting through the noise. Barbero's drumming is tight and propulsive, driving the songs forward with a relentless energy. Herman's basslines provide a solid foundation for the songs, adding depth and texture to the overall sound.
