Review by Monica Castañeda Segerström

Alice Babs' Elizabethan Love Songs is a charming album that showcases the Swedish singer's versatility and range. The album features a collection of traditional English folk songs, ballads, and madrigals from the Elizabethan era, which Babs interprets with grace and sensitivity.

Babs' voice is a wonder to behold, and her ability to convey emotion through her singing is remarkable. Her rendition of "Greensleeves" is hauntingly beautiful, while "The Willow Song" is a poignant tale of lost love that is delivered with heart-wrenching sincerity.

What makes Elizabethan Love Songs so special is the way that Babs brings these old songs to life with her unique interpretation. Whether she's singing about unrequited love or the joys of spring, Babs' performance is always engaging and engaging, and she effortlessly captures the essence of the songs.

The album is beautifully produced, with arrangements that perfectly complement Babs' vocals. The use of traditional instruments like the lute and the harpsichord adds to the authenticity of the music, and the overall effect is one of pure enchantment.
